Job Summary:
Implements and monitors all logistics activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products. Participates in the development of business strategies and understands the need for an effective transportation and distribution function to support them.
The position functions as a subject matter expert in all aspects of logistics, supply chain, and distribution activities.
Job Responsibilities:
- Promotes a world-class culture of safety.
- Participates in functional and cross-functional teams to meet objectives, improve processes, and enhance stakeholder satisfaction. Develops and maintains standard operating procedures.
- Performs daily routing and optimization using an internal Transportation Management System, monitors dispatch operations including driver/truck and trailer assignments, and participates in driver safety meetings.
- Collaborates with logistics management, third-party vendors, and internal partners to ensure compliance with applicable regulations (DOT, etc.) and promotes an engaged workplace.
- Trains, mentors, leads, and assists less experienced staff, may schedule work, and troubleshoots complex problems.
- Monitors, analyzes, and reports on fleet key performance indicators to exceed service performance metrics.
- Builds relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support end-to-end supply chain objectives.
- Monitors driver compliance with onboard computer (OBC), Department of Transportation violations, and hours of service.
- Serves as a subject matter expert in internal systems such as Transportation Management System, On-Board Computers, Dispatch Software, and Warehouse Management Systems. Handles customer issues and requests.
- Maintains and updates all master data related to transportation systems and store schedules in the AS400 system.
- Oversees backhaul programs, driver payroll, productivity, and prepares driver bid schedules.
- Assists with invoice entry using internal e-procurement systems.
- Ensures completion of accident processing, claims, investigations, and corporate reporting.
- Monitors compliance with DOT and CSA regulations, and assists management in ensuring compliance with other relevant laws.
- Handles significant and unique issues, analyzing situations or data to evaluate intangible factors, and exercises independent judgment in methods and evaluation criteria.
- Acts independently on new or special assignments, using professional concepts to resolve critical issues.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree with at least 2 years of experience in supply chain or business OR High School/GED with at least 4 years of experience.
- Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
- Data analysis and reporting skills to identify issues and trends.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Experience working with relational databases like MS Access.
- Business analytical skills, including facilitating requirements sessions and documenting workflows.
- Willingness to travel up to 10%.
- Experience in indirect team management, including training and project assignment.
- Willing to be on call, carry a company phone and laptop.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in managing team members indirectly, including development and training.
- Availability for on-call duties with company-provided equipment.
