Job summary

Flatiron Health in New York seeks an Associate to help grow biopharma partnerships and advance research priorities using Flatiron solutions. You will work cross-functionally to generate and close opportunities, supporting the revenue engine and client success.

You are a collaborator with 2+ years in client-facing roles, able to juggle multiple deadlines, and ready to travel up to 20%. This hybrid role combines strategic engagement with hands-on execution across life sciences partnerships.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of client-facing experience delivering products, services or analyses to biopharma companies.
  • 2+ years of client-facing experience in Roles delivering client engagement or business development.
  • Advanced degree with 1+ years of strategic client engagement/business development.
  • Experience leading end-to-end sales including lead generation, pitching and contract negotiation.
  • Exposure to project work in oncology.
  • Understanding biopharma industry dynamics across drug development stages.

Responsibilities

  • Grow revenue at existing biopharma partners by building relationships, pitching solutions, and negotiating terms.
  • Support development of new business proposals contributing to Flatiron revenues across the evidence business.
  • Become a subject matter expert on biopharma partners portfolio and research priorities.
  • Support Flatiron’s strategic long-term partnerships with biopharma users of our research offerings.
  • Represent Flatiron capabilities to advance research priorities and coordinate onboarding sessions.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll work cross-functionally on the Life Sciences Partnerships team to generate and close business opportunities with our biopharma partners and support them in advancing their research priorities using Flatiron solutions. You'll bring to the team a deep understanding of the healthcare industry, an analytical approach to problem solving, strong client management and organizational skills, and an eagerness to drive growth within your biopharma accounts. As part of this role, you will:

  • Grow revenue at our existing biopharma partners by building upon new and existing relationships, proactively pitching solutions, and negotiating commercial terms
  • Support development of new business proposals -- directly contributing to Flatiron revenues across the evidence business
  • Become a subject matter expert on our biopharma partners portfolio and research priorities to help inform and identify growth opportunities
  • Support Flatiron’s strategic approach to long term partnerships with biopharma users of our research offerings
  • Become a subject matter expert on Flatiron’s offerings and reliably represent our capabilities to advance the research priorities of our biopharma partners
  • Support our partners in their use of Flatiron’s research offerings by facilitating data and analytical onboarding sessions, identifying value-added opportunities for RWE and supporting onsite client meetings to collect feedback and support use cases (anticipated travel: <20%)
  • Support advancement of internal Flatiron initiatives and priorities (e.g., identifying future growth opportunities, optimizing internal ways of working, etc.)
  • Act as the voice of the customer across internal functional groups (product, research clinicians, quantitative science, engineering, business development, legal and finance team members) as a key influencer of go-to-market strategy
Who You Are

You're a kind, passionate and collaborative problem-solver who values the opportunity to think beyond the way things are. In addition, you’re a collaborator with 2+ years of experience in client facing roles.

  • You have a B.A. or B.S. (preferred discipline in biological sciences, economics, engineering, biostatistics or similar)
  • You have 2+ years of client-facing experience delivering products, services or analyses to biopharma companies
  • OR; Advanced degree in a biological science (e.g., PhD), applied health (e.g., MPH), or business (e.g., MBA) with 1+ years of strategic client engagement/business development
  • You are involved in managing project timelines, data analyses, and supporting communication with biopharma clients
  • You have the ability to juggle multiple client interactions and deadlines simultaneously
  • At least 1+ years of experience leading/supporting sales of product/services to biopharma (lead generation, pitching, contract negotiation)
  • Experience leading end-to-end sales of products/services (lead generation, pitching, contract negotiation)
  • Exposure to project work in oncology
  • Understands biopharma industry dynamics across stages of drug development cycle / value chain and familiar with biopharma org structure
  • Experience working in team or cross-functional settings and has a strong willingness to collaborate
  • Detail oriented with a strong desire to develop content expertise (e.g., RWE, clinical oncology, HEOR)
  • Able to navigate ambiguity
