Job summary

City of Logan's Library seeks an Associate Librarian to oversee programs and services at Logan City Library. The role involves managing daily operations and guiding staff.

The full-time position requires a Bachelor's Degree or two years of relevant library experience, plus a Utah Operator License. The 40-hour work week includes weekday, weekend, and evening shifts. Internal applicants welcome.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills in writing and speaking.
• Basic technology skills including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Internet searching.
• Ability to receive, understand, interpret, and carry out library policies and procedures.
• Commitment to an up-to-date knowledge of library resources.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and reader's advisor services, and instruct patrons in the use of library resources.
• Participate in material circulation procedures.
• Promote library use.
• Act as "librarian in charge" when administration is not available.
• Resolve day-to-day operational problems/issues involving staff and/or patrons and provide technical advice to Library staff.
• Manage a budget and make fiscally responsible purchasing choices in line with Logan City guidelines.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
