Job summary

Lanpro is a market-leading multi-disciplinary consultancy delivering landscape architecture across residential, infrastructure and regeneration sectors. We seek an experienced Associate Landscape Architect to lead project delivery, mentor junior staff and contribute to business development.

You will manage design development, technical delivery and client engagement, working within a collaborative, hybrid team environment across the UK.

Qualifications

• Landscape Institute accredited degree or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
• Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI) or actively working towards chartership.
• Experience within a landscape architecture consultancy.
• Strong experience producing landscape designs, technical drawings and supporting documentation.
• Experience with project management, including financial control, reporting and programme management.
• Experience across RIBA Work Stages and landscape planning principles.
• Strong design, graphic and presentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD or similar CAD software, planting software and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Fluent English and full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of landscape architecture projects and specific workstreams, meeting quality, programme and budget targets.
• Prepare landscape designs, technical drawings, visualisations and planning documents.
• Develop concepts from site analysis to planning and detailed design.
• Provide technical QA of work by junior colleagues.
• Manage tasks, programmes, resources and budgets under direction.
• Liaise with clients, consultants and stakeholders; attend site visits and meetings.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
• Support fee proposals and tender submissions; identify new business opportunities.

We are seeking an experienced Associate Landscape Architect to lead the delivery of landscape architecture projects and support the development of the wider Landscape Architecture team. The role will combine technical delivery, project management, client liaison and team development, with opportunities to contribute to business development and multidisciplinary projects.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical understanding of landscape architecture and the ability to take responsibility for project delivery, while supporting and mentoring more junior colleagues.

If successful, you will:

• Lead the delivery of landscape architecture projects and specific project workstreams, ensuring agreed quality, programme and budget requirements are met.
• Prepare and oversee the preparation of landscape designs, technical drawings, visualisations, reports, landscape strategies and supporting planning documents.
• Develop design proposals from site analysis and concept through to planning and detailed design stages as appropriate.
• Provide technical review and quality assurance of work prepared by junior colleagues.
• Manage project tasks, programmes, resources and budgets under appropriate direction.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors and stakeholders.
• Attend site visits, meetings, workshops and consultation events.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams and external consultants.
• Support the preparation of fee proposals and tender submissions.
• Identify opportunities for additional work and contribute to business development activities.
• Support, mentor and develop Landscape Architects and more junior team members.
• Ensure work is delivered to agreed deadlines and quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with Lanpro procedures, quality standards and health and safety requirements.

Essential:

• Landscape Institute accredited degree and/or postgraduate qualification in Landscape Architecture.
• Chartered Member of the Landscape Institute (CMLI), or actively working towards chartership.
• Relevant experience within a landscape architecture consultancy.
• Strong experience producing landscape designs, technical drawing produciton and supporting documentation.
• Experience of project management, including financial control, reporting and programme management.
• Experience of working across and delivery of projects at all RIBA Work Stages.
• Good understanding of landscape planning, design principles and construction techniques.
• Experience working within multidisciplinary design teams.
• Strong design, graphic and presentation skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD or similar CAD software, Keyscape or similar planting software and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Fluency in English and ability to communicate effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Knowledge and understanding of the UK legal and planning system with respect to landscape architecture.
• Experience of LVIA, TVIA or other landscape assessment methodologies.
• Experience in working in collaborative design studios and workshops.
• Experience of mentoring or supervising junior team members.
• Experience of working on major infrastructure, residential, commercial or public realm projects.
