Job summary

Martin Marietta Materials, Inc. is seeking an Associate Internal Auditor to join our Internal Audit team in Raleigh, NC. This role provides exposure to corporate functions and operational processes, with five days on-site.

You will develop audit, data analytics, and business partnering skills while supporting IT, SOX, and financial audits across the organization; a strong candidate is a recent graduate or early-career professional.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related business field.
• Strong preference for Accounting or Finance.
• Understanding of audit and accounting principles, business processes, internal controls, and risk management concepts.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze data and translate findings.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills across organizational levels.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Experience with data analytics tools such as Tableau, Alteryx, SQL is a plus.
• Ability to travel up to 15% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Participate in risk assessments and audit planning activities to identify key business risks and data sources.
• Assist in timely execution of operational, financial, compliance, and internal control audits.
• Analyze data to identify trends, anomalies, and improvement opportunities.
• Evaluate internal controls and assess compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Prepare clear audit workpapers and documentation.
• Assist in developing audit reports with findings and recommendations.
• Develop relationships with management and promote Internal Audit as a trusted advisor.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of audit methodologies and data analytics.
