Job description

Adelyn Charles Interiors is seeking an experienced and talented Associate Interior Designer to join our growing team in Naples, Florida.

This is a project-lead role for a designer who is ready to take ownership of sophisticated, high-end residential projects from concept through completion. Our Associate Designers serve as the primary designer and day-to-day client contact on their assigned projects, working directly with homeowners, builders, architects, trades, and vendors to bring each project to life.

The Associate Designer will report directly to the Owner and Creative Director and will have the autonomy to lead their own projects while collaborating with and being supported by the broader Adelyn Charles Interiors team.

We are looking for someone with a strong design point of view, exceptional attention to detail, confidence working with luxury clientele, and a thorough understanding of the residential design and construction process.

The Role

As an Associate Designer, you will lead multiple residential projects through all phases of design and implementation, including:

  • Lead assigned projects from initial concept and design development through construction, furnishings, installation, and final completion
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients throughout the design process
  • Develop cohesive design concepts that reflect both the client's vision and the Adelyn Charles Interiors aesthetic and standards
  • Lead client presentations and confidently communicate design concepts, selections, recommendations, and project decisions
  • Collaborate directly with architects, builders, contractors, landscape designers, and other project partners
  • Review architectural and construction drawings and provide design input throughout the planning and construction process
  • Develop space plans, furniture plans, elevations, custom details, and other design documentation
  • Select and specify interior architectural finishes including flooring, cabinetry, countertops, tile, plumbing, lighting, hardware, paint, wall treatments, and architectural details
  • Develop complete furnishings schemes including furniture, fabrics, window treatments, rugs, lighting, artwork, and accessories
  • Source products and materials that meet the project's design intent, budget, quality standards, and timeline
  • Prepare and oversee client presentations, specifications, schedules, and project documentation
  • Conduct site visits and participate in construction meetings as required
  • Coordinate with vendors, showrooms, workrooms, trades, and craftspeople throughout the project
  • Work closely with ACI's purchasing team to ensure accurate specifications, procurement, tracking, and delivery
  • Provide clear direction and delegation to Design Assistants and other team members supporting assigned projects
  • Review work completed by supporting team members for accuracy and consistency
  • Proactively identify project challenges and develop solutions before they impact the client, schedule, or design
  • Oversee installations and final styling to ensure every project is completed to ACI standards
  • Maintain awareness of project scope, design fees, furnishings budgets, schedules, and deadlines throughout the life of the project
What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is an experienced residential designer who can balance creativity with the organization and leadership required to successfully run complex projects.

Qualifications include
  • Degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, Architecture, or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of professional interior design experience, with significant experience in high-end residential design
  • Demonstrated experience independently leading residential projects
  • Strong knowledge of the custom residential construction process
  • Experience working directly with builders, architects, contractors, and trades
  • Strong space planning, architectural detailing, finish selection, and furnishings capabilities
  • A sophisticated design sensibility with an exceptional understanding of scale, proportion, color, materials, and composition
  • Ability to interpret architectural and construction drawings
  • Strong understanding of specifications, schedules, and design documentation
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Confidence working directly with discerning luxury clientele
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, deadlines, and priorities
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to delegate effectively and guide supporting team members
  • A collaborative, professional, solutions-oriented approach
  • Ability to travel locally to project sites, showrooms, vendor meetings, and installations
Who You Are

You are a designer who wants ownership of your work.

You enjoy developing the creative vision for a project, but you are equally comfortable managing the hundreds of decisions and details required to execute that vision successfully. You can walk into a construction meeting and confidently communicate with a builder, lead a client through a major presentation, give clear direction to a Design Assistant, and make thoughtful design decisions without needing constant oversight.

You understand that luxury residential design requires both creativity and exceptional service. You anticipate needs, communicate proactively, take responsibility for your projects, and care deeply about the details.

You also value collaboration. While our Associate Designers lead their own projects, no one at ACI works in a silo. We share ideas, problem‑solve together, support one another, and believe that the strongest projects come from a talented team working toward the same goal.
