Northern Virginia Community College is seeking an Associate Instructor - Welding to deliver quality instruction in classrooms and laboratories, while supporting student success. The position emphasizes teaching excellence, meeting classes regularly, and providing guidance in a diverse learning environment.
The role is restricted and funded by fiscal-year funds with no guaranteed employment. Salary is commensurate with education and experience, within the established Associate Instructor ranges
The Associate Instructor position is a restricted appointment with an instructional load of 33 to 39 credit hours and 39 to 49 contact hours over the academic year. This position is relieved of most administrative and governance duties to spend time in student support and student success related activities. The Associate Instructor contract contains no expectation or guarantees of continued employment.
*This position is restricted and is funded with non‑continuous or non‑recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.
Starting salary is commensurate based on education, experience and other appropriately qualifying factors within assigned level and will fall within the specified hiring range for the assigned level. Associate Instructor level is determined by education and academic teaching experience. The hiring range for Associate Instructor I is $50,000 to $67,000. The hiring range for Associate Instructor II is $65,000 to $87,000.
