Simpson Strong‑Tie Company Inc. in Stockton, CA, is seeking an Associate Inside Sales Representative to service customers, answer questions, process orders, and provide basic technical support after training.

This full-time, non-exempt role offers a base pay range of $21.91–$31.39 per hour plus quarterly bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement contributions, employee stock purchase and more.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED – required.
• Customer service experience – a plus.
• Proficiency with Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and similar programs.
• Accountability & dependability: reliably punctual.
• Mathematical reasoning: add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals.
• Reading comprehension: read/write simple correspondence and follow instructions.
• Analysis / reasoning: interpret instructions from various formats.
• Customer focus: solve customer problems quickly and effectively.
• Communication: clear one-on-one and small group communication.

Job Overview

Simpson Strong‑Tie is a leader in engineered structural connectors, software, and solutions for the building industry. As an Associate Inside Sales Representative, you will be responsible for servicing customers by handling all types of customer problems and requests, and processing orders. You will receive training on our products to answer customer questions.

Responsibilities

• Answer the queue phone and provide customers with requested information such as pricing and ship dates.
• Input orders into the computer (approximately 80% of the time).
• Provide technical help when able (approximately 20% of the time).

Desired Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) – required.
• Customer service experience – a plus.
• Computer skills: proficiency with Outlook, Excel, MS Word, and similar programs.
• Accountability & dependability: consistently reliable and punctual attendance.
• Mathematical reasoning: ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimal equivalents.
• Reading comprehension: ability to read and write simple correspondence and follow instructions.
• Analysis / reasoning: ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Customer focus: ability to quickly and effectively solve customer problems.
• Communication: ability to communicate one‑on‑one and in small group settings within a team atmosphere.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, hear, and sometimes walk and stand. The employee may occasionally push or lift up to 25 lbs. The job operates in a professional office environment where standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and scanners are frequently used.

Work Status & Location

This full‑time, non‑exempt position is located in Stockton, CA. Relocation is not available for this position.

Travel

Travel is not normally required, but may be necessary for training purposes.

Pay

$21.91 - $31.39 per hour.
