Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in McKinney, TX is seeking an Associate Inside Sales Representative to service customers by handling all types of inquiries and processing orders—primarily by phone. You will input orders into the computer and provide pricing and ship date information as needed.

You will also provide technical assistance when required and work in a full-time, on-site role with a reward package that includes quarterly bonuses or commissions and a comprehensive benefits plan.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 months Related experience and/or training.
• Computer Skills: type a minimum of 40WPM.
• Accountability & Dependability: reliable, punctual attendance.
• Mathematical Reasoning: basic Algebra and Geometry concepts; whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.
• Reading Comprehension: read and write simple correspondence and follow instructions.
• Analysis/Reasoning: interpret various instructions.
• Customer Focus: quickly and effectively solve customer problems.
• Communication: one-on-one, small groups, and email communication.

Responsibilities

YOU

As an Associate Inside Sales Representative you are responsible for servicing the customer by handling all types of customer problems and request as well as processing orders - usually by telephone.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

(% of Time)

Answer approximately 75 phone calls a day and provide customers with requested information (pricing, ship dates, ...). Input orders into the computer. (90%)

Provide technical help when needed. (10%)

• Analysis/Reasoning: able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Customer Focus: ability to quickly and effectively solve customer problems.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

Travel Required

This job requires no domestic travel.

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in McKinney, TX

PAY

$19.38 - $29.09 / hour
