Job summary

Simpson Strong-Tie Company Inc. in McKinney, TX is seeking an Associate Inside Sales Representative to service customers by phone, handle inquiries, process orders, and provide technical assistance.

This role combines problem solving with accurate order entry in a fast-paced environment. You will answer roughly 75 calls daily, input orders, and support customers with pricing and ship dates while upholding our commitments to quality and service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 months of related experience and/or training.
• Computer skills: type a minimum of 40 WPM.
• Accountability & Dependability: reliable, punctual attendance.
• Mathematical reasoning: basic Algebra/Geometry, whole numbers, fractions, decimals.
• Reading comprehension: read/write simple correspondence, follow instructions.
• Analysis/Reasoning: interpret diverse instructions.
• Customer focus: solve customer problems quickly and effectively.
• Communication: communicate one-on-one, in groups, and via email.

Position Overview

As an Associate Inside Sales Representative you are responsible for servicing the customer by handling all types of customer problems and request as well as processing orders - usually by telephone.

Key Responsibilities

• Answer approximately 75 phone calls a day and provide customers with requested information (pricing, ship dates, …).


• Input orders into the computer.


• Provide technical help when needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.


• 3 months Related experience and/or training.


• Computer Skills: type a minimum of 40WPM.


• Accountability & Dependability: able to consistently demonstrate reliable, punctual attendance.


• Mathematical Reasoning: able to apply basic Algebra and Geometry concepts. Able to add, subtracts, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.


• Reading Comprehension: able to read and write simple correspondence and able to follow instructions.


• Analysis/Reasoning: able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


• Customer Focus: ability to quickly and effectively solve customer problems.


• Communication: able to communicate one-on-one, small group settings and via email.

Work Environment

This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.

Travel Required

This job requires no domestic travel.

Work Status & Location

This full-time, non-exempt position is located in McKinney, TX. Relocation is not available for this position.

Pay

$19.38 - $29.09 / hour
