The Infrastructure team is part of the Workforce Technology Division (WTD) at the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions. Infrastructure maintains and supports the systems and networks utilized by the agency's other departments to accomplish a majority of critical work functions. These work functions support the citizens of New Mexico in a wide variety of ways.

This position is intended for technology professionals who possess a solid foundation in information technology and are ready to advance into enterprise systems administration. Respond and resolve production issues related to core infrastructure components and systems for the Department of Workforce Solutions.
Working under the direction of the Systems Administration Supervisor and the guidance of Senior Systems Administrators, the Associate Systems Administrator supports the administration, maintenance, monitoring, and security of the Department's hybrid technology environment. This includes on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms hosted in Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). The position assists with maintaining enterprise infrastructure and technology services while developing the technical knowledge and experience necessary to independently administer enterprise systems.

The Ideal Candidate has:
Associate Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems (MIS), Information Technology, Engineering, or similar technical degree and two (2) years of experience in end user support, systems administration, network administration, or any related field. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university in a related field and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling four (4) years may substitute for the required education and experience.
Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification within six (6) months of date of hire as a condition of continued employment.
Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel may be required. Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
