Job summary

Giro is seeking an Associate Industrial Designer in Irvine, CA to support the design and development of helmets, goggles, eyewear, and footwear.

You will generate diverse concepts, create sketches and renderings, develop 3D CAD models, and contribute to CMF and prototyping with cross‑functional teams.

Collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Development and Manufacturing to ensure design solutions meet performance, cost, and brand objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design or related field.
• 0–2 years of professional industrial design experience (incl. internships).
• Proficiency in Rhinoceros, Blender, SolidWorks or similar 3D tools.
• Strong sketching, visualization and concept development skills.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially Illustrator.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes (injection/ blow molding, soft goods).
• Excellent verbal, written and visual communication; team player.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Generate a broad range of innovative design concepts from briefs and trends.
• Create sketches, renderings, and visual communication materials.
• Support ideation sessions, design reviews, and cross‑functional discussions.
• Contribute to Giro's future design language and product aesthetics.
• Develop and refine 3D CAD models to explore form, function, ergonomics, manufacturability.
• Create physical prototypes using internal and external resources.
• Maintain organized design documentation and revision histories.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Development, and Brand teams to meet objectives.
• Participate in user testing, wear testing, and consumer feedback sessions.
• Support CMF development and communicate with manufacturers to ensure intent is executed.
• Prepare technical design documentation and BOMs; assist sample management.
