Job summary

The American Red Cross in Kentucky seeks a regulatory and process-improvement professional to lead implementing regulatory procedures and coordinate cross-divisional changes. You will manage suspect products, drive root-cause initiatives, and ensure compliant documentation across teams.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of related experience, with strong problem-solving and communication skills. Travel may be required; competitive salary and benefits are provided.

• Assist with inspections and visits to assess compliance and provide on-call support.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

• Serve as project lead for regulatory procedure implementation and process improvement initiatives, including coordinating department training, communication protocols and national and divisional changes.
• Manage suspect products including investigation, gaining control of the products, completing necessary documents for suspect product management, product release and final disposition and attending root cause meetings.
• Process collections-related problems through the problem management system including ensuring reports are accurate, complete, clear and concise.
• Process any combination of reports including customer complaints, material review board process, supply and equipment problem deficiency reports.
• Develop, implement and monitor process improvement/quality improvement initiatives and staff training protocols to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Ensure documentation of training and regulatory communications is accurate and timely.
• Assist with internal and external inspections/evaluations including visiting blood drives and/or collection sites to assess for compliance and standardization and provide on-call support for collections processes.

Qualifications

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

Education: Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

Experience: Minimum 5 years of related experience required. Experience within the Process Improvement department highly preferred.

Skills & Abilities: Relevant experience in problem investigation and resolution preferred. Excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, analyze problems, recommend appropriate solutions, and assimilate information quickly required. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills to deal with all levels of staff, hospital personnel, physicians, volunteers and donors required. Proficient with Microsoft office applications. Ability to work on a team. May have on-call duties.

Travel: Some travel may be required.

The salary range for position is $57,000.00 - $59,000.00 / annually.

Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
