Job summary

UWC-USA in the United States seeks the Associate Head for Teaching and Learning to advance curricular innovation, integration of IB programs, and an equitable, inclusive learning environment. This senior role partners with the President and leads Academic Leads, Heads of Faculty, and the Registrar to align teaching with our mission and sustainability commitments.

Qualifications

Five or more years of administrative experience in secondary education.
Ten or more years of successful teaching in a multicultural school and in the IB Diploma Programme.
Knowledge of curricular practices and assessment in secondary prep or independent schools.
Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and access.
Experience guiding curriculum development and policy implementation.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

Lead the Teaching and Learning Department and curricular innovation across the program.
Coordinate curriculum development and policies among faculty and students.
Represent the school in ISAS/IB accreditation activities and with the Board of Trustees.
Collaborate with the President and Strategic Leadership Team on school-wide initiatives.
Oversee policy development and budgetary planning for the educational program.
Support recruitment, retention and development of mission-aligned faculty.
