Job summary

The Club at Savannah Harbor, part of Troon, is seeking a full-time Associate Golf Professional in Savannah, GA. You will run the golf shop, ensure guest satisfaction, support member events, and help operate daily golf club functions.

Eligible candidates typically have PGA membership or Level 2 Apprentice status and will engage in ongoing club operations, instruction, and staff coordination.

Qualifications

• PGA member status or Level 2 Apprentice or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

• Runs golf shop operations including POS revisions, tee times, and billing; coordinates with accounting on policy updates.
• Reconciles tee sheets, processes payments, and tracks special charges.
• Initiates and promotes golf activities and events.
• Creates lesson plans and provides individual and group instruction.
• Maintains clean, well-stocked shop and assists with merchandising and purchasing.
• Oversees staff performance, training, and scheduling; ensures staff meetings and safety practices.

Pay

$50,000-$60,000 annually, based on experience.

Summary

This position is designed to run the golf shop, ensure guest satisfaction, run member events, and support the overall operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Administers all point-of-sale application revisions and needs as they apply to green fee sales, merchandise sales, and member and guest billing. Coordinates with Accounting Departments on all policy and procedure revisions, updates, and implementation.
• Reconciles daily tee sheets, performs check-ins, and receives payments from members and guests. Resolves discrepancies as they apply to duplicate charges and overpayment or underpayment. Tracks all force posts and no-show charges as applicable.
• Initiates and promotes all club golf activities.
• Creates lesson plans and provides both individual and group instruction.
• Maintains a clean, orderly, and well-stocked golf shop. Assists the retail buyer with procurement and merchandise, and shop assistants with merchandising and sales.
• Supervises preparations for all golf outings, including scorecards, cart labels, rules sheets, score sheets, format sheets, favors, pairing sheets, and hole assignments.
• Monitors all members' scores, reports handicapping to the USGA, and bills members.
• Assists the Manager in interviewing, hiring, training, planning, assigning, and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding, and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Assists in the management of department members that may include, but are not limited to: Starters, Player Assistants, and Guest Services Attendants.
• Ensures that effective orientation and training are given to each new associate. Assists in developing ongoing training programs.
• Assists in monitoring business volume forecasts and plans accordingly in areas of manpower, productivity, costs, and other expenses.
• Implements and maintains excellent service to achieve guest satisfaction.
• Conducts staff meetings with subordinates.
• Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.
• Performs other duties as required.

Certificates/Licenses

• PGA Member or Level 2 Apprentice or higher preferred.
