Job summary

Please note: The salary range listed in this job description is a base salary. Applicants eligible for years‑of‑service adjustments or shift differentials may exceed salary range listed above.

This position will be located at the Missouri Geological Survey, 111 Fairgrounds Rd., Rolla, MO 65401. Regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with intermittent field work and occasional overnight travel.

Responsibilities
  • Implement the Water Well Drillers’ Act (Chapter 256.600 to 256.640, RSMo) and the Well Installation Regulations (10 CSR 23).
  • Review well construction and plugging records for compliance.
  • Perform field investigations related to well installation activities and groundwater stewardship.
  • Collect well construction information and geological data using a variety of field instruments and techniques.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with managers and team members.
  • Build and maintain expertise in Missouri geology and well drilling operations.
  • Partner and communicate regularly with stakeholders including public, industry, and government agencies to accomplish goals.

  • Preferred Experience: Experience in geology, hydrology, and well installation; training, certification, and/or education in continuous process improvement programs such as Lean Six Sigma.
