Job summary

Systems Planning and Analysis, Inc. (SPA) seeks an experienced Associate General Counsel for Technology, AI, IP, and Legal Operations to drive AI-enabled processes within the legal department and across SPA's divisions.

This role partners with the Office of the CIO and technologists to advance innovation, compliance, and operational excellence in defense and intelligence contexts. The successful candidate will mentor the legal team, shape roles and objectives, and operate at senior executive

Qualifications

JD from an accredited law school and licensed in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
7–10+ years of legal experience gained with the government, a law firm, or in-house, preferably in-house.
Expertise in technology, AI, IP and legal operations within regulated environments.
Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.
Experience with data protection/privacy laws/regulations (e.g., GDPR, FISMA, RMF, NIST 80053/RMF, FedRAMP, CMMC 2.0).

Responsibilities

Advise on technology, AI, IP, and data privacy for defense and intelligence services.
Lead AI-enabled legal processes and tools for SPA's legal dept and broader operations.
Collaborate with SPA's CIO, IT teams, and technologists to ensure legal compliance with AI strategy.
Develop IP strategy including licensing, trade secrets, and patent filings.
Drive legal operations transformation and cross-functional collaboration.
