About the Role

As an Associate General Counsel, you will partner closely with public education institutions to deliver practical, preventive, and mission-driven counsel. This is a fantastic opportunity to build a solid foundation in public agency law under the guidance of experienced mentors.

Key Responsibilities:

• Advise and represent education clients on various legal matters.
• Conduct legal research, draft memoranda, and prepare written opinions.

What We Are Looking For:

• Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Bar Status: Active membership in the State Bar of California.
• Skills: Strong written and verbal communication, with a solid foundational skill in conducting legal research.
• Interests: A strong interest or foundational experience in student matters, personnel, public contracting, and board governance within a K-12 or community college setting.
• Travel: A valid California driver's license and the ability to travel occasionally to client sites, or a reliable method of transportation to client sites, including potentially remote locations.
