Meta is seeking an Associate General Counsel, Product (Payments) to advise on payment laws, financial services regulations, data privacy, and consumer protection as it launches new features. You will manage risk and provide strategic legal guidance across product, engineering, policy, operations and business teams.

• 8+ years of experience in privacy law with focus on data protection for payments/financial data
• J.D. Degree and active membership in at least one US state bar and eligibility to obtain in-house status if required
• Active bar membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction

Responsibilities

• Provide legal advice on payment laws, financial services regulations, data privacy, consumer protection, and enforcement actions for existing products and new features
• Develop strategic, long-term approaches to launching payment products globally
• Assess legal risks, recommend mitigation strategies, and provide legal advice to product, engineering, risk, and compliance teams
• Monitor and analyze new regulations in payments/financial services and assess applicability to products
• Support cross-functional efforts to engage regulators and policymakers
