Job summary

GS2 | B Corp™ is seeking an Associate General Counsel to execute legal strategy across solar energy project transactions and development. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, you will serve as a key legal and commercial advisor to cross functional deal teams across all project lifecycle stages.

You will drive transactions from inception to closing, draft land purchase agreements and EPC contracts, manage governance for project subsidiaries, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of relevant legal experience in solar or renewable energy transactions.
• Experience drafting and negotiating land purchase agreements, leases, easements, and offtake contracts; overseeing title and survey reviews.
• Experience negotiating EPC contracts and advising on land use, environmental regulations, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Execute transactions: negotiate, document, and close portfolio acquisitions, sales, and complex solar project deals.
• Development & site control: draft and negotiate land agreements, leases, easements, and offtake contracts; oversee title/survey reviews.
• EPC & operational advisory: lead negotiations for EPC contracts and advise on regulatory compliance.
• Governance & operations: manage project subsidiary structures with paralegal support, assist with Board reporting, and refine standard legal templates.

Key Responsibilities

• EPC & Operational Advisory: Lead negotiations for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts and advise on land use, environmental regulations, and regulatory compliance.
• Governance & Operations: Manage project subsidiary structures with paralegal support, assist with Board reporting, and refine standard legal templates.
• Experience: Minimum 4 years of relevant legal experience, with strong preference for solar and renewable energy transactions (law firm or in-house).
• Key Traits: Exceptional commercial judgment, strong communication, meticulous attention to detail, and multi project deal management.
