Associate General Counsel, Finance and Credit (Hybrid, Permanent, In-House)

Our client, a thriving private lending company, is seeking an Associate General Counsel to support its growing business. The ideal candidate has experience drafting loan and commercial credit agreements, with niche practice in debt finance, lending, commercial credit, or a related area such as transactional bankruptcy. This is an excellent opportunity for a law firm attorney looking to pivot in-house and take on high-level legal work with more predictable hours and pace. The role offers a hybrid schedule (Tuesday–Thursday in office) at a beautiful Central/North Austin office alongside a truly collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities of the Associate General Counsel, Finance and Credit

• Draft, review, and negotiate loan agreements and key lending documents a wide range of transaction types
• Provide counsel on commercial lending and credit matters, including the structuring, negotiation, and documentation of bilateral, syndicated, participation, and capital markets transactions
• Advise credit and lending teams on intercreditor arrangements, subordination agreements, and lien priority issues, and portfolio management matters

Qualifications for the Associate General Counsel, Finance and Credit Position

• 3+ years of lending or commercial credit practice with top law firm or comparable in-house team
• Strong drafting skills of lending and credit agreements

Compensation

The salary range for this role is $200,000 - $215,000 plus bonus and very generous benefits. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, and credentials.
