A leading insurance company seeks an experienced legal advisor for their Claims Team. The role involves providing legal support, conducting research, and managing litigation. Under the direction of senior leadership in the Legal and Compliance Team, this position will serve as an advisor to the Claims Team and the Company regarding insurance coverage, extra-contractual disputes, and litigation.
This role involves conducting research, drafting legal opinions, participating in claim review meetings, examining records, conducting investigations, attending depositions and mediations, managing outside panel counsel, and overseeing coverage and extra-contractual litigation. The role also includes helping draft and review product forms, participating in negotiations, and providing leadership updates on major projects and training.
Education: Juris Doctor Degree and active bar admission in the employed state(s). Continuous learning is required.
Experience: Minimum five years handling coverage matters or litigation, preferably in-house or private practice. In-house insurance experience is a plus.
