Job summary

Main Line Health seeks an Associate General Counsel to provide comprehensive legal counsel across its health system, supporting executives, leaders, and multiple business units on regulatory, operational, and transactional matters. Responsibilities

• Provide counsel on health care regulatory matters, labor and employment, contracts, governance, patient care and compliance.
• Draft and review contracts, governing documents, and policies for MLH and affiliates.
• Advise on and document corporate, regulatory, financial, and transactional matters to mitigate risk.
• Organize and deliver training seminars for employees and medical staff on varied legal topics.
• Participate in 24/7/365 on-call Legal Department service with other attorneys.
• Supervise outside counsel on litigation and business transactions.
• Support General Counsel and senior counsel on complex matters and governance issues.

Job description

The Associate General Counsel provides comprehensive legal counsel to Main Line Health (MLH),
leaders and business units supporting legal, operational, regulatory, and transactional matters across the
health system.

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Provide counsel in all types of legal matters relating to the operation of MLH and its subsidiaries
  and affiliates, including health care regulatory matters, labor and employment, contracts and
  business relationships of all types, hospital and health systems operations, physician contracting,
  medical staff affairs, corporate governance, clinical and basic research health care fraud and
  abuse, managed care contracting, health care privacy and security, patient care concerns, risk
  management, quality and patient safety, licensing concerns, bioethical issues, intellectual
  property, billing & reimbursement and transactional matters, tax and tax exempt status.
• Draft and review contracts and agreements, corporate and medical staff governance documents
  and organizational policies and procedures.
• Provide advice and negotiate and document the Corporation’s agreements to address relevant
  legal, regulatory, financial, insurance, tax and operational issues, furthering a broad array of
  enterprise risk management and corporate compliance objectives.
• Organize and deliver training seminars and other presentations on varied topics to the
  Corporation’s employees and members of the medical staff.
• Participate equally with other attorneys in the 24/7/365 Legal Department on-call service.
• Support, supervise, and manage outside counsel on litigation, business transactions and other
  specific projects.
• Provide support to the General Counsel, Deputy General Counsel and Senior Counsel in all legal
  matters, complex transactions and governance/business issues, as assigned.
• Other Accountabilities: Other duties as assigned by Senior Vice President and Deputy General
  Counsel, senior attorneys or senior management of clients. Supervises paralegal, contract
  coordinator and support staff on specific projects. May also supervise managers of other
  departments with accountability to the Legal Department.

Education: Undergraduate degree, Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.

Licensures/Certifications: Member of Pennsylvania Bar or eligible to wave into PA
