Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Associate General Counsel to join a fast-growing tech platform company in a hybrid remote role based in Los Angeles. The position offers high compensation and a comprehensive benefits package, with a strong emphasis on commercial contracting and regulatory compliance.

The successful candidate will advise executive leadership on corporate governance, IP, contracts, and privacy matters, while drafting and negotiating complex MSAs and vendor agreements.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• California bar in good standing.
• 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with recent AdTech exposure.
• Strong knowledge of technology, intellectual property, contract law, and/or corporate governance.
• Excellent legal research and writing skills.
• Startup-oriented, agile and hands-on in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance to the executive team on corporate governance, IP and contract law.
• Draft, review, negotiate and interpret software licenses, vendor contracts, service agreements, and NDAs.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws and proactively identify legal and regulatory risks.
• Develop and implement legal strategies and policies aligned with business objectives.
• Emphasize commercial work, including MSAs, negotiating with Sales.
• Address privacy matters including PII considerations in agreements.
• Spend approximately 60–80% of time on client-facing commercial activities.

We are on the lookout for an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our growing tech organization. Responsibilities

1. Provide legal guidance and support to the executive team on a wide range of legal and regulatory issues, including corporate governance, intellectual property, and contract law.
2. Draft, review, negotiate and interpret a wide variety of contracts including software licensing agreements, vendor contracts, service agreements, and non-disclosure agreements.
3. Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and policies, and proactively identify and manage legal and regulatory risk.
4. Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to support business objectives, while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
5. Strong emphasis on commercial work, including reviewing and negotiating complex MSAs and partnering closely with Sales.
6. Solid grounding in privacy fundamentals, including PII and identity-related considerations within agreements.
7. This role is expected to spend approximately 60–80% of time on client-facing commercial activities

Qualifications

1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Must be a member in good standing with the state bar of California.
3. 10+ years of relevant legal experience, with recent experience working within an AdTech environment as a must.
4. Demonstrable experience with legal documents, drafting, and negotiation.
5. Strong knowledge of technology law, intellectual property law, contract law, and/or corporate governance.
6. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
7. Startup-oriented mindset, meaning agile, proactive, collaborative, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment. Willing to roll up sleeves and operate hands‑on across various responsibilities.
