Job summary

Dot Foods, a family-owned food industry logistics company, is seeking an Associate Freight Sales Representative in Mt. Sterling, IL.

You will learn freight sales fundamentals, manage a small regional portfolio, and build relationships with brokers and shippers while developing negotiation skills. During an extended training period you will gain knowledge of freight markets, pricing, capacity, and operational needs, with progression toward a Freight Sales Representative role and opportunities for

Location: Mt. Sterling, IL

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc. (DTI)

Reports To: Assistant Transportation Manager

Salary Range: $43,061 to $64,591 annually, plus bonus opportunity

As an Associate Freight Sales Representative, you will learn the fundamentals of freight sales and third-party freight procurement through an extended training and development period. You will begin by managing a smaller assigned region while building the skills needed to identify and secure freight opportunities and develop strong relationships with freight brokers and shippers. As your knowledge and experience grow, you will take on greater ownership and responsibility, preparing you for progression into the Freight Sales Representative role.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

YOU MUST HAVE

• Four-year college degree or equivalent Dot Foods Experience

YOU MAY ALSO HAVE

• Bachelor's degree emphasized in logistics, supply-chain management, sales, or transportation
• Knowledge of federal guidelines on carriers and inter/intrastate commerce
• Ability to elicit desired behavior change with internal and external customers and vendors

ROLE SPECIFICS

• Occasional travel per year. Must have ability to travel independently as needed, without restriction by all modes of transportation, including car, plane, or train.
• On-call responsibility will be required 6-7 weeks annually with opportunity for flextime during weeks on-call. Can be executed from anywhere with cellphone or internet availability.
