Job summary

Portland General Electric (PGE) is seeking an Associate Forester to support vegetation management across the Sunset and Salem regions. Working with a Senior Forester, you will respond to customer calls, manage work orders in Quickbase, assist with outage investigations, and document findings.

This role requires an ISA Arborist certification at hire, with ISA Certified Utility Arborist and Oregon pesticide consultant certifications within six months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in earth sciences or related field is required or equivalent experience.
• Two or more years in tree trimming/arborist work with vendor management and project coordination.
• ISA Arborist certification is required at hire; ISA Certified Utility Arborist and Oregon pesticide consultant certifications within six months.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer calls and support vegetation management operations.
• Create and manage work orders in Quickbase; support outage investigations and document findings.
• Conduct field quality-control audits and coordinate crews for hazard-tree removal.
• Coordinate herbicide applications with vendors and internal teams as needed.
• Ensure work meets standards and regulatory requirements; liaise with city, county, and state agencies.
