Job description

Referment is working with a global investment firm seeking an associate to support the office of its senior technology leadership. The role provides a broad view across a large technology organisation and helps leadership maintain focus on the priorities most important to the firm. This is not a hands-on engineering position. It combines strategic project coordination, analytical research, executive reporting, and technology-management work. You will partner with a chief-of-staff function and stakeholders across the organisation, helping connect detailed technical activity with leadership-level decisions.

The Role
  • Help move high-priority technology initiatives forward, tracking progress, dependencies, decisions, and emerging risks.
  • Research technology and organisational questions, analyse data and issues, and distil the findings for leadership discussions.
  • Coordinate strategic work sponsored by the chief-of-staff function, bringing structure and follow-through to projects involving multiple teams.
  • Build a clear view of technology activity across the organisation and identify the information senior leaders need to understand progress.
  • Prepare concise reporting and briefing materials that accurately summarise technical subjects for senior stakeholders.
  • Work across a varied stakeholder group, asking thoughtful questions and ensuring actions remain aligned with leadership priorities.
What We're Looking For
  • At least three years of comparable experience in technology strategy, technology programme management, a technology chief-of-staff team, consulting, or a similarly cross-functional role.
  • Proven ability to prioritise effectively and drive complex work to completion through influence and disciplined follow-up.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience managing projects or processes with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to understand and clearly summarise technical information.
  • Confident stakeholder-management skills and the ability to work productively with technical specialists and senior leaders.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when dealing with sensitive business and organisational information.
Desirable Experience

Direct exposure to enterprise technology leadership, technology operating models, portfolio reporting, or strategic planning would be particularly useful. A software-engineering background is not required where the candidate can demonstrate credible technology fluency. This could suit a technology strategy consultant, technical programme manager, technology-business-management professional, or chief-of-staff associate ready for a firmwide remit.
