Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site position as an Associate Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual in Racine, WI. The role involves handling daily tasks related to financial planning, insurance, retirement planning, and investments. The individual will work closely with clients to provide exceptional customer service, financial solutions, and assist them in achieving their financial goals.

Experience

  • Financial Planning and Retirement Planning skills are a plus
  • Insurance knowledge is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Overall Function

The Associate Financial Representative (AFR) focuses on client service and supporting the Financial Advisor in building practice and client relationships. The AFR ensures the office operates efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities include:

  1. Support
  • Handle case notes, process correspondence, and maintain client files
  • File statements, account forms, and related materials
  • Maintain the Financial Advisor’s calendar and schedule follow-ups
  • Answer and direct calls appropriately
  • Prepare for client meetings by gathering and inputting data
  • Schedule follow-up meetings with clients
  • Monitor Daily Status Reports and expedite underwriting requirements
  • Communicate with home office, NMIS, and fund families
  • Send birthday cards and schedule reviews

Client Service Support for Non-Securities Products

  • Assist in sales activities for non-securities products
  • Complete insurance applications with clients
  • Participate in retaining existing business
  • Review applications and policy changes for accuracy
  • Arrange necessary medical or paramedical exams
  • Provide account status updates
  • Advise clients on late payments and service issues
  • Process service requests (address changes, loan requests, etc.)

Qualifications

  • Health and Life licensing within 6 months of employment
  • Experience in financial services or insurance preferred
  • Associate Agent Contract required upon licensing
  • Experience in administrative support or customer service
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data entry software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Proactive and adaptable to change
  • Ability to work independently and in teams
  • Maintain confidentiality
