Job summary

Edelman Financial Engines is seeking an Associate Financial Planner to support Financial Planners in delivering client happiness while adhering to regulatory standards. You will assist with analyses across retirement, investments, tax, and estate planning, and help prepare client materials for reviews.

The role emphasizes strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple planning tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–3 years in financial services (broker/dealer or RIA)
• FINRA Series 65 required
• Bachelor’s in business/finance or equivalent experience
• CFP designation preferred
• Financial services & insurance sales experience preferred
• Strong understanding of finance/markets/securities
• Detail-oriented with solid follow-up and prioritization
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Perform financial planning analyses for retirement, investments, estate, tax, education funding, real estate, and risk management
• Prepare client meeting materials and supporting research
• Assess clients’ evolving planning needs and identify opportunities
• Provide reports on distributions, performance, billing, insurance, and tax implications
• Calculate distributions, income needs, tax consequences and cash flows
• Maintain client relationships with proactive high-level client communication
• Stay current on industry products and trends
