Role Overview

The Associate Field Support Technician assists higher-level technicians with network monitoring, operations, and maintenance. Provides support to end-users for PC, server, or mainframe applications and hardware, interacts with network services, software systems, and applications development to restore service or identify issues, and refers complex problems to senior technicians.

Essential Duties
  • Provides level 1-2 technical support, troubleshoots problems, maintains hardware, and documents tickets.
  • Updates troubleshooting procedures, manuals, and user guides.
  • Completes tasks via email, ticket system, remotely, or on-site visits.
  • Sets up computers, installs applications, and tests network connections.
  • Communicates with customers and suggests improvements.
  • Responds to escalated help desk requests related to hardware and software issues.
  • Follows policies and procedures.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Supports desktop, network, and server activities.
  • Provides LAN and WAN support to remote users.
  • Identifies problems, researches solutions, and guides clients.
  • Ensures timely ticket resolution.
  • Assists users with proprietary software issues.
  • Provides after-hours and on-call support as needed.
  • Manages in-house systems and mobile devices according to policies.
  • Assists with support requests and collaborates on IT projects.
  • Manages hardware/software inventory.
  • Sets up Linux Android G-Boxes and reconfigures servers as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong understanding of hardware, software, and networking.
  • Knowledge of smartphone configuration (Android and iPhone).
  • Ability to troubleshoot independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Multi-tasking in a fast environment.
  • Organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows 7/8.1, Microsoft Office, and basic medical equipment knowledge.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% with reliable transportation.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of IT experience.
  • Certifications in A+ and N+ preferred.
  • Experience with VPN, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and mobile devices.
  • Experience with IT ticketing systems and relevant applications.
  • Leadership experience is a plus.
