POSITION SUMMARY:

The Associate Field Service Technician is responsible for maintaining retail store technologies, computer systems, and peripherals within retail store and commercial environments. Responsibilities include product installation, support, and repair on Toshiba and non-Toshiba retail products across various marketplaces such as retail banking, SMB, apparel stores, supermarkets, and more. The role focuses on customer satisfaction, metrics, and operational activities, including product exchange, diagnosis, repair, refurbishment, installation, relocation, and configuration changes. The candidate will initially work under supervision until capable of performing duties independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Operate in assigned territory, perform repairs and services on products using established procedures and diagnostics, and assist with difficult repairs as needed.
2. Travel within territory or nationally for installations, relocations, upgrades, and modifications of retail POS equipment.
3. Communicate effectively with customers, management, and team members regarding work status and customer satisfaction.
4. Manage and complete service events promptly, aiming to meet or exceed customer commitments.
5. Plan and schedule work, respond to schedule changes, and arrange travel efficiently.
6. Document installation activities accurately following Toshiba standards, including travel, calls, mileage, and expenses.
7. Maintain and manage trunk stock to support customer needs.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

• Travel to multiple customer locations daily.
• Lifting to 50 lbs., standing/walking for 75% of the workday, frequent bending, reaching, and twisting.
• Use of hand tools and potential air travel required.
• Use of ladders or lifts for mounted devices may be necessary.

AREAS OF EXPERTISE & SKILLS:

• High School Diploma with 2+ years in Electronics.
• Willingness to travel 100%, including domestic and international travel.
• Basic knowledge of PC technology, network infrastructure, retail devices, and related technologies.
• Mechanical aptitude with electronics, test equipment, and tools.
• Strong communication, customer service, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, on long hours, and varying shifts including weekends and overtime.
