We are looking for an Associate Field Service Engineer to join our team!

Preferred location: San Jose, California

This is a full-time position which requires the selected candidate to reside or relocate in the surrounding area where the position is located (San Jose, California).

What you’ll do at Elekta:

As an Associate Field Service Engineer, you will service equipment used to treat cancer patients. You must be customer-focused and able to perform all mechanical and electronic repairs required in a timely fashion while meeting all administrative requirements. This role requires professional representation and support of projects, programs, and policies established by the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform troubleshooting and repairs on designated modalities, diagnosing problems with a success rate of 50%, following escalation procedures.
  • Perform supervised calibrations and preventive maintenance on designated modalities.
  • Work safely in confined areas, including high current/voltage modulators (20-50 kV, 1500A), using peripheral vision to gauge distances. Depth perception is critical.
  • Work safely on Elekta’s full range of products, including medical devices producing high-energy ionizing radiation.
  • Read, analyze, interpret, and follow signal flow on blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
  • Submit service reports, timesheets, expense reports, film badges, and other paperwork accurately and timely.
  • Manage parts inventory.
  • Provide product feedback to the home office.
  • Maintain all company-leased equipment, including vehicles, parts, and tools.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Electronics, Physics, or related discipline.
  • Good electro-mechanical aptitude.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Experience servicing radar equipment is a plus.
  • Proficiency with test equipment and hand tools, including oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
  • Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practice, including ESD requirements.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Professional and positive representation of the organization.
  • Ability to organize and prepare reports.
  • Willingness to travel and work unsociable hours.
  • Compliance with all credentialing requirements and Elekta’s COVID-19 vaccination policy.

The US base salary range is $70,000 - $83,000 (overtime eligible).
