Job summary

Provectus is seeking an Associate Forward Deployed Engineer to join engagements with a Senior FDE. You will learn client workflows, rewrite processes, and deliver production code for AI-powered solutions using Claude Code on AWS.

The role emphasizes hands-on learning by building, with on-site work at the New York office three days a week and exposure to financial services, healthcare, and asset management projects.

Qualifications

• Degree in computer science, engineering or another STEM field.
• 0–2 years of experience; internships, co-ops and research.
• Projects demonstrating AI integration in the SDLC with a walk-through.
• Hands-on Claude Code basics.
• Strong programming fundamentals in Python or TypeScript.
• Curiosity and fast learning; ability to learn business contexts quickly.
• Good communication to explain complex topics to non-engineers.
• Willingness to spend real time learning a client's job before coding.
• Location & Work Arrangement: on-site from our New York office, 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Take the seat — learn a client's function from the inside and redesign it with guidance.
• Build — ship production code for LLM applications, agentic workflows, and retrieval pipelines.
• Build the evaluation harness first — define working metrics and measure them.
• Take systems to production on AWS, feeding learnings back into the Blueprint.
• Grow into ownership; drive adoption and credibility with client engineers and operators.
