Job summary

AdventHealth is seeking a Clinical Applications professional to maintain and enhance Epic and related systems to support patient care delivery. You will collaborate with clinicians and end users to document workflows, perform gap analyses, and design future workflows during new implementations.

Strong communication with leadership and teams is key. You will also configure Epic modules, create test scripts, and participate in multiple cross-functional projects while staying current on industry

Qualifications

  • Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to work with minimal guidance and learn rapidly.
  • Knowledge of clinical/technical workflow and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with departments to streamline documentation workflows and implement best practices in clinical documentation.
  • Maintains knowledge of product initiatives and data integrity across systems.
  • Designs, builds, configures Epic modules and supporting third-party apps.
  • Develops test scripts and conducts end-to-end workflow testing and documentation.
  • Provides on-call support in a 24/7 production environment.

Job Description:

Responsible for maintaining and enhancing clinical and business systems to support patient care delivery. This position analyzes business problems and recommends solutions that align with organizational goals. This role collaborates with clinicians and end users to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and maintain Epic and other associated systems. In addition, this position coordinates with physicians and end users to document workflows, perform gap analysis, and develop future workflows during new implementations. This role requires effective communication with hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff.

  • Collaborates with various departments to streamline documentation workflows and supports the implementation of best practices in clinical documentation.
  • Develops and maintains a robust knowledge of the product initiatives and categories supported, ensuring data integrity and effective communication of findings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Designs, builds, and configures within assigned Epic system modules and supporting third‑party applications.
  • Develops test scripts and materials for end‑to‑end workflow testing, performs unit, system, and integration testing, and documents outcomes.
  • Troubleshoots issues or system deficiencies, initiates escalation procedures, and provides recommendations for resolution.li>
  • Remains current on industry trends and vendor/application/system updates, ensuring software modifications/upgrades work according to Epic specifications.
  • Follows departmental standards for software configuration control, quality assurance, and version releases, providing documentation and training on system upgrades and new releases.
  • Participates in multiple cross‑functional projects, utilizing project planning and coordination methodologies, tools, and lean methodologies.
  • Actively participates in project, team, departmental, and other meetings, reporting status updates, accomplishments, tasks, and barriers to the manager.
  • Serves as an active member of the Clinical Applications Team, dedicated to developing electronic documentation solutions that support clinical workflow and practice.
  • Provides on‑call support in a 24/7 production systems environment, acting as the primary support contact for the application's end‑users.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Epic Certification or ability to complete certification within 3 months of completing classes [Required]
  • Basic Microsoft suite of products [Required]
  • Demonstrated creative problem‑solving approach and strong analytical skills [Required]
  • Must have strong written and verbal communication skills [Required]
  • Work with minimal guidance [Required]

  • Knowledge of clinical/technical workflow [Preferred]
  • Must have knowledge and experience with Electronic Information Systems (e.g., Electronic Health Record) [Required]
  • Strong computer skills including basic troubleshooting, and critical thinking [Required]
  • Strong clinical workflow knowledge [Required]
  • Working knowledge of how departments relate to one another and process flows in between them [Preferred]
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite [Preferred]
Education:
  • High School Grad or Equiv [Required]
Field of Study:
  • in a field of study such as business, IS, or a healthcare related
Work Experience:
  • 1+ emr application/implementation experience [Preferred]
  • 1+ experience communicating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience [Required]
  • 1+ years of clinical or technical background [Preferred]
Licenses and Certifications:
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) [Preferred]
  • Driver's License (DL) [Required]

$60,756.80 - $113,006.40
