Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking dedicated environmental services teammates to join Frankfort Hospital on the 2pm-10pm or 3pm-11pm shifts. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment, supporting patient care with thorough cleaning and sanitizing of rooms, offices and common areas.

This entry-level position requires no prior experience. PPE is provided, and you will perform routine disinfection, waste removal, and basic floor care while coordinating with clinical teams to safeguard

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.
• No prior experience required.
• Must wear PPE as required by environment/government regulations.
• Physical capability to lift up to 35–80 lbs and stand for long periods.
• Ability to operate light floor cleaning equipment and climb ladders.
• Able to clean areas including IR/Cardiac Cath/ NICU/ OR/ ED.

• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides cleaning and sanitizing services to support a safe, clean and welcoming environment.
• Cleans and sanitizes patient rooms, offices, clinical and procedural areas, and public spaces. Supports patient safety through consistent and high-quality service.
• Demonstrates ability to support the cleaning and disinfection of high-acuity clinical and procedural areas.
• Applies disinfection protocols and utilizes approved cleaning tools in accordance with infection control standards and hospital policy.
• Conducts hazardous and biohazardous waste removal in compliance with safety regulations and infection prevention protocols.
• Proactively communicates and collaborates with clinical teams to ensure cleaning processes support patient safety and care flow.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED or equivalent experience preferred.

Requirements

• No previous experience required.
• Must be able to wear protective equipment/clothing required by the environment or government regulations such as gowns, gloves, goggles, rubber-soled closed-toe footwear, etc.
• Physical requirements to include: reaching, standing for long periods of time, squatting, bending, carrying and/or lifting supplies and equipment weighing 35 lbs. or more, up to 80% of the time.
• Requires the ability to operate light floor equipment for cleaning floors in patient care areas.
• Requires the ability to climb ladders.
• Requires the ability to clean areas that require technical cleaning including IR/Cardiac Cath/Mother-Baby/NICU/OR/ED.
