Verdantas LLC is hiring an Engineering Staff I in Elmwood Park, NJ. This entry-level civil engineer role offers hands-on experience across diverse projects, with supervision from licensed engineers.

You will assist with site design, planning, and documentation while developing core civil engineering skills. Requirements include a Civil Engineering degree, basic AutoCAD Civil 3D knowledge, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Civil Engineering required and Master’s preferred as a plus.
• Python not required; familiarity with EIT is encouraged.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and basic MS Office needed.

Responsibilities

• Support civil and site design for land development and infrastructure projects.
• Assist with site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater designs.
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist with drawings and calculations.
• Coordinate design activities with other disciplines and teams.
• Prepare technical documentation and support project timelines.

Ready to shape the future of resilient communities? Verdantas is seeking an Engineering Staff I to join our Site/Civil team in Elmwood Park, New Jersey. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career civil engineer looking to build hands-on experience across a variety of exciting projects.

What You'll Do

• Support civil and site design for land development, airport, mixed-use, residential, higher education, and other infrastructure projects
• Assist with the preparation of site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, stormwater designs, and other civil engineering deliverables
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D to assist with engineering design, calculations, plans, and drawings
• Coordinate civil design activities with other engineering and design disciplines
• Perform engineering calculations and apply fundamental civil engineering principles to project work
• Research engineering and design issues, evaluate alternatives, and assist with developing practical solutions
• Support project teams in meeting schedules, budgets, and technical requirements
• Assist licensed Professional Engineers with project design and documentation
• Participate in field assignments, site visits, and other project-related activities as needed
• Prepare clear and accurate technical documentation
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, and other team members throughout the project lifecycle

What You'll Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required
• Master's degree in Civil Engineering is a plus
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward obtaining the EIT is strongly preferred
• Basic proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Understanding of fundamental civil engineering theories, principles, and design practices
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Experience with MicroStation is a plus
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to learn new technical skills and software quickly
• Ability to manage assignments and meet project deadlines
• Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for field and project assignments

Salary Range: $67,000.00 - $77,000.00
