Job summary

ROCHESTER GAS & ELEC CORP in Rochester NY is seeking an Associate Engineer to support protection and control for electric transmission and substation systems on AVANGRID projects. You will ensure designs comply with NESC, FERC, NERC, NPCC, NYISO, ISO-NE, NY PSC, ME PUC, CT PUC, and related standards.

The role requires analyzing protection schemes, coordinating with teams, and maintaining process excellence to ensure safe, reliable operations. Occasional travel to worksites may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Technology.
• Basic knowledge of power systems and relevant standards.
• Awareness of national/international standards for power system protection.

Responsibilities

• Analyze electric transmission and substation protection related to disturbance monitoring and reporting.
• Review and approve work of engineering contractors.
• Define and update company processes to ensure compliance with standards and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor internal processes and performance indicators.
• Support audit preparation and compliance documentation.
• Travel to worksites as needed.
