Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. is seeking an Associate Embedded Software Engineer in Washington. You will design, implement, and test firmware and software, and collaborate with hardware engineers to ensure proper hardware/software interaction.

The role involves developing designs and test documentation, and gaining knowledge of SEL processes and products, with a strong emphasis on embedded Linux, C/C++, and GUI applications in Windows environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent.
• Knowledge in embedded systems firmware development including real-time firmware design.
• Experience with C, assembly, and GUI applications in Windows environments.
• Experience with embedded Linux systems development using C, C++, Python, Yocto and other scripting languages.

As an Associate Embedded Software Engineer, a typical day might include:

• Participate in the design, implementation, and test of firmware/software systems.


• Understand hardware and software interactions, and collaborate with Hardware Engineers.


• Participate in the development of designs and test documentation.


• Develop knowledge of SEL engineering processes.


• Develop knowledge of SEL products and technology.

Pay Range Data: $84,200 - $124,400 annually.

We are open to reviewing additional candidates with more or less experience and the pay range may differ if filled at a different level. Our pay ranges are determined by job and responsibility. We base our starting pay offer and title on job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills.
