Wall Street Journal Custom Content is part of The Wall Street Journal | Barron's Group advertising department and executes bespoke content and video programs for the digital and print editions of The Wall Street Journal, Barron's and MarketWatch. Our diverse group is made up of editors, designers, video producers, developers, account managers, and content strategists who work together to create award-winning campaigns for our clients.
The Associate Editor will support The Trust's Editorial Team, providing assistance to and collaborating with the managing, executive, and senior editors on a daily basis. They will be copy editing and quality assuring best-in-class custom and supplied branded content across digital and print, with opportunities to write meaningful, compelling copy for social media and advertising units.
The role will include creating, standardizing, and maintaining editorial standards, processes, and tasks. They will also work closely with a cross-functional team of editors, client success managers, social strategists, developers, and designers, as well as clients, as needed, to manage the timely execution of deliverables for custom and supplied content products across multiple verticals, including finance, technology, B2C, B2B, healthcare, government, real estate, and luxury.
They will be responsible for copy editing and QAing video and audio content, as well as overhauling and implementing new processes for both. In addition to regularly writing social distribution copy for clients, they will also have the opportunity to work as writer or project editor for a variety of our client partners, as well.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient at copy editing and proofreading, with excellent, versatile writing skills (short-form, long-form, and headline writing), plus laser-focused detail orientation for quality assurance. They are comfortable juggling multiple projects and working under strict deadlines. Candidates should have strong organizational skills and knowledge of AP Style. Creativity and flexibility to communicate advertisers' objectives to the WSJ audience in a fresh, organic way is a must.
