Job summary

Leidos seeks an Associate Distribution Engineer in Oahu, HI, to design and support overhead and underground distribution systems from 4kV to 138kV. You will work with utility clients, develop work packages, ensure safety and quality, and perform engineering calculations for pole loading, sag/tension, and voltage drop.

Travel to sites is required for inspections. The role emphasizes collaboration with cross-disciplinary teams and providing post-construction support to meet standards and client

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (ABET-accredited) in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/Industrial.
• Experience with NESC, ESRI, AutoCAD and/or MicroStation; GIS a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office; strong verbal and written communication.
• Willingness to perform field work and travel (10–20%).

Responsibilities

• Develop design and construction work packages for distribution systems 4kV–138kV.
• Comply with safety and design quality expectations.
• Travel to sites for inspections and then perform engineering design work.
• Perform calculations for pole loading, guying, conductor sag/tension, voltage drop and flicker.
• Develop permitting documents for AHJs.
• Provide engineering support during construction and post-construction reviews.
