Job summary

MSD in Rahway, NJ is seeking an Associate Director - Market Engagement for Vaccines & ID (Flu). The role partners with US/global marketing to drive data-driven insights, inform launch and growth strategies, and support brand objectives using advanced analytics, AI/ML, and NLP.

You will translate business questions into analytical use cases, lead cross-functional analytics efforts, and ensure high-quality, timely deliverables across the vaccine portfolio in a matrixed environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years analytics or data science experience in pharma/biotech/healthcare; vaccines experience preferred.
• Proven track record applying advanced statistics, AI, machine learning, NLP, and Agentic AI to solve commercial business problems.
• Proficiency in Python, R, SAS, SQL or similar tools for data extraction, feature engineering, and model development.
• Strong experience with patient-level and healthcare data (claims, EMR/EHR, registry, CDC, IQVIA and other secondary sources).
• Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into structured analytical questions and data-driven recommendations.
• Experience supporting products across their lifecycle (development, launch, growth, maturity, and end of life).
• Strong communication and data storytelling skills, including presenting complex findings to senior and non-technical audiences.
• Effective stakeholder management and influence skills within a matrixed environment.
• Self-directed, adaptable, curious, with forward-thinking mindset on AI adoption.

Responsibilities

• Serve as analytics partner to US/global marketing, aligning analyses to brand priorities/OKRs.
• Translate key questions into well-defined analytical use cases.
• Deliver high-quality analyses with timeliness, compliance, and good user experience.
• Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions.
• Support design and refinement of AI/ML and NLP solutions with business context.
• Synthesize findings into concise stories and visualizations for decision making.
• Stay current on vaccines market dynamics and advances in analytics and AI.
