Job summary

Merck in Rahway, New Jersey is seeking an Associate Director to lead analytics and AI initiatives within the AI Activation team. You will partner with brand, marketing, and ME teams to turn data into actionable insights and to shape AI use cases grounded in real business needs.

The role blends traditional data science with emerging AI, guiding targeting, segmentation, and launch analytics while ensuring data privacy and governance across commercial teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in a quantitative field is required.
• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical or healthcare analytics, marketing analytics, or data science.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and/or R; experience with Databricks or Dataiku.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced analytics and data science projects addressing priority brand and marketing questions (HCP targeting, segmentation, tiering, promotional impact).
• Drive launch readiness analytics for new products/indications including market and patient opportunity sizing and targeting.
• Develop and apply ML and statistical models using pharmaceutical commercial data.
• Translate analytic outputs into decision-ready insights for leadership, marketing, and field teams.
• Partner with brand, ME, and sales planning to frame questions, define success metrics, and measure impact.
