Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin invites applications for Associate Director, Creating Conditions for Impact at the Charles A Dana Center. This role leads a national team to catalyze systemic change by shaping policy, building professional networks, and driving workforce alignment across PK-12 and postsecondary systems.

Reporting to the Director of Systemic Transformation, you will partner with center leaders to set strategy, supervise staff, and build relationships with national education

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics Education, Statistics Education, Higher Education Leadership, Public Policy, or a related field.
• 10–12 years of experience in postsecondary education with expertise in postsecondary mathematics, statistics, data science, policy development, systems change, or workforce alignment.
• 5 years of leadership experience in a postsecondary setting with focus in mathematics, statistics, or data science.
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically and creatively, balance multiple priorities, and work across teams under pressure.
• Experience supervising developing staff and managing complex projects.
• Strong organizational and written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a close strategic thought partner to the Director of Systemic Transformation, shaping the team's vision and strategy for postsecondary systems.
• Partner with leadership across communications, evaluation, and development to ground policy strategies in research and evaluation.
• Lead the design of systems-change and workforce-alignment initiatives, especially in postsecondary mathematics, bridging PK-12 and workforce needs.
• Cultivate professional networks across national education sectors to foster collaboration and accountability.
• Represent the Dana Center in high-level forums to advance systemic change and expand influence.
• Manage budgeting, staffing, and project delivery to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.
