Job description

The mission of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation is to honor the sacrifice of firefighter Stephen Siller who laid down his life to save others on September 11, 2001. We also honor our military and first responders who continue to make the supreme sacrifice of life and limb for our country. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans.

The Tunnel to Towers Foundation is committed to eradicating homelessness amongst our veterans. The Foundation is seeking an experienced Associate Director to work collaboratively with and oversee the program staff serving Veterans who have experienced unsheltered homelessness and are now transitioning into permanent housing.

This candidate will assist in the implementation of pre-established workflows across the Veterans’ Villages via the creation, revision, and dissemination of organizational and administrative documents utilized by direct support staff and the clear and timely communication of any updates in policies and procedures. The Associate Director will also assist in the departmental onboarding and retention of staff at the Veterans’ Villages and evaluation of program outcomes. As such, they will be required to perform administrative tasks, as needed, and stay astride of developments in the field.

Requirements
  • Conduct outreach with community stakeholders and partners, particularly mental health providers, in areas surrounding the veterans’ villages.
  • Develop organizational and administrative documents as they pertain to pre-established case management, peer specialist, entitlement specialist, and employment specialist workflows.
  • Assist in the selection, departmental onboarding and training of new staff.
  • Work closely with Program and Associate Director’s to implement professional development trajectories and opportunities for staff across the villages.
  • Design and analyze surveys that measure program outcomes such as Veteran, staff, and training satisfaction
  • Work closely with the QA-QC Manager, Senior Director, and Director to revise, implement, and communicate developments in departmental protocols, policies, and procedures.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Social Work, Public Administration, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in social work, supportive housing, or healthcare settings required.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records and data systems preferred.
  • Familiarity with Medicaid, Social Security, and other entitlement programs.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data and/or protocols clearly and effectively to various audiences.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and implement improvements.
  • Advanced computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office/ Google Suite (or equivalent), data management systems, and compliance tracking tools.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
  • Pre-employment screening, including a background check, is required.
Working conditions

Special working conditions may include: a change in days worked, shift hours, and/or working conditions (outdoors or other locations) when participating and assisting in special events needed. Willingness to travel nationally up to 30% of the time.
