Job summary

Zimmer Biomet is seeking a senior Service Systems Engineering leader to drive serviceability, reliability, and customer experience across Robotics and Neurologic portfolios. You will partner with R&D, Quality, and Operations to ensure service readiness and scalable support.

The role emphasizes Design for Serviceability, post-market support, and cross-functional leadership, including developing talent and aligning service strategy with business growth. Travel required, onsite in Austin.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years in service/systems/product support engineering in medical devices.
• 5+ years leading technical or engineering teams.
• Experience with complex capital equipment and robotics is preferred.
• Familiarity with FDA-regulated and ISO-compliant environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Service Systems Engineering organization across Robotics and Neurologic portfolios.
• Define and govern service engineering strategy, standards, and processes.
• Provide executive leadership for ROSA Robotics and Monogram platforms.
• Integrate service requirements early in product development with R&D and Product Development.
• Lead service readiness for new product introductions and software releases; create documentation and calibration procedures.
• Champion Design for Serviceability and perform serviceability reviews and FMEAs.
• Oversee lifecycle support, post-market activities, obsolescence, and refurbishment efforts.
• Enable Technical Support and Field Service with tools, training, and escalation processes.
• Collaborate with Quality, Regulatory, Operations, and Product Management on CAPA, audits, and service revenue opportunities.
• Foster a customer-first culture and cross-functional collaboration to improve uptime and asset utilization.
