Job summary

Monogram, a Zimmer Biomet Company, in Austin, TX, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to advance robotic medical device solutions. You will develop and specify product requirements, create CAD 3D models, perform testing, and ensure regulatory alignment including IEC60601 and 510(k) submissions.

You will collaborate with design, manufacturing, and validation teams, lead risk analyses, and drive design for manufacturability while meeting schedule and cost targets. Up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
• Experience with EMC and Safety Testing for IEC60601 certification
• Experience with SolidWorks
• Direct experience in Medical Device industry
• Proficient in CAD and 3D modeling
• Knowledge of design for manufacturability and risk management

Responsibilities

• Develop and specify product functional requirements and testing strategies according to user needs and regulatory requirements
• Design, test and integrate components and sub-assemblies to achieve final product design
• Identify root causes of issues and evaluate potential solutions against requirements
• Collaborate with development team, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists
• Meet performance, time-to-market, and cost targets while ensuring quality
• Develop hardware according to system requirements and create CAD models/drawings meeting standards
