Job summary

The ASU Foundation for a New American University seeks an Associate Director of Development to lead externally focused fundraising efforts. You will engage a portfolio of individuals, corporations, and foundations to reach ambitious financial goals and donor metrics.

You will supervise a team, collaborate with university and foundation partners, and drive strategy for major gifts of $50,000+. Proposals, stewardship, events, and donor communications will be central to the role, supported by

Qualifications

• Exceptional interpersonal skills and ability to interact with leadership, donors, and volunteers.
• Ability to conduct research, analyze data, and prepare timely reports to support development objectives.
• Database management skills and experience with prospect tracking and donor communications.
• Ability to lead a team, train employees, and manage competing priorities.
• Knowledge of fundraising techniques including proposal development and donor solicitation.
• Strong written and verbal communication and ability to present to groups.

Responsibilities

• Develops and executes strategic fundraising and engagement efforts for assigned areas.
• Manages a personal major gift/prospect portfolio with a focus on gifts at or above $50,000.
• Collaborates with ASUF and University Development Office to identify and solicit gifts.
• Coordinates donor recognition events and engagement opportunities.
• Prepares proposals, budgets, and collateral materials for significant investments.
• Leads a team including an Assistant Director and student staff; plans, assigns, and coaches.
• Oversees scholarship programs and manages donor relations related to scholarships.
• Utilizes Salesforce for recording contacts, proposals, and stewardship activities.
• Develops outreach to increase scholarship applications and reports for stakeholders.
