Job summary

Rainier Scholars seeks an Associate Director to provide direct mental health support and wellness programming for scholars in grades 5–8 in Tacoma. You will supervise the Academic Coaching team and Student Advisors, lead case consultations, and contribute to program priorities.

Reporting to the Director of 5th–8th Grade Programs, you will support social, emotional, and behavioral growth and partner with recruitment on mental health screenings. Hybrid, Tacoma-based role.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or a related mental health field.
• Clinical license or license-eligibility for the state of Washington and 3+ years of experience with early adolescents.
• Experience facilitating group counseling or workshops for youth and crisis response.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical and mental health support, counseling and wellness initiatives.
• Lead monthly workshops and mental health screenings during recruitment.
• Develop Scholar Success Plans and coordinate support with Academic Coaches.
• Supervise two Academic Coaches and Student Advisors, including performance reviews.
• Collaborate with school counselors and district partners to support social-emotional growth.
