Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking an Associate Director to lead operational processes for pre-pay and post-pay claims review across multiple Commercial clients. You will supervise 8–10 leaders, drive SLAs, capacity planning, quality, and continuous improvement while coordinating with matrix partners and internal stakeholders.

This role offers remote work from anywhere in the U.S., with in-office four days per week for those in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of operational management experience with supervisors/leaders
• 3+ years in Fraud, Waste & Abuse space
• 3+ years workforce management and staffing planning
• 3+ years indirectly leading a global team
• 3+ years client-facing and ongoing operational support
• 3+ years developing and managing operational metrics
• 3+ years in health plan/managed care operations

Responsibilities

• Lead 8-10 operational leaders and oversee their teams
• Manage inventory, SLAs, productivity, capacity planning
• Oversee multi-year contracts with readiness and optimization
• Ensure data integrity, security controls, and process adherence
• Collaborate with matrix partners to meet obligations
• Plan staffing to meet savings, revenue, and IOI targets
• Partner with R&D to optimize savings through policy guidance
• Ensure compliance with state/federal policies and contracts
• Identify and remove operational barriers via deep-dive reviews
• Coordinate with offshore teams to reduce costs
• Secure resources for programs (funding, staffing, real estate)
• Hold regular meetings with stakeholders to review issues
• Monitor compliance outcomes with regulators, customers
• Ensure business continuity and emergency plans tested
• Budgeting and forecasting, cost-control implementation
• Work with Finance/WFM to plan budgets
