Job summary

Howden is seeking an Associate Director to lead the reinsurance claims function. The role requires 4+ years of intermediary claims experience and a strong track record in managing client and reinsurer relationships.

Collaborate with external clients/reinsurers and internal broker teams to ensure accurate loss handling, timely settlements, and contract compliance across multiple lines of business.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of reinsurance intermediary claims experience.
• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Maintain relationships with brokers, clients, and reinsurers to ensure high-quality client service.
• Receive loss notices and proofs of loss from clients and forward to reinsurers.
• Review coverage, retention, limits, LAE treatment, and loss reporting requirements.
• Prepare/review loss calculations for accuracy and contract compliance.
• Process claims transactions in the accounting and claims systems.
• Monitor reinsurer settlements and forward funds to clients promptly.
• Attend client claims audits as needed.
• Lead training for new hires on systems, concepts, and claims.
